Question Of The Day: Is it ever a good idea to work with a romantic partner?

Oh boy! Two words: Know thyself. “Ever” is also a strong word. “NEVER” is an even stronger one, but I am close to using it to tell you that unless you and the potential partner are both in comfortable positions in your company... DON’T DO IT!

Why? It can be challenging if both of you are not equally focused on and committed to work or don’t place the same level of importance on the personal relationship. There are enough issues to battle with work that is separate from a personal relationship and vice versa. Do you really want to compound them and have no escape from either?

But if you think you can make it work… hey, good luck!
