Question Of The Day: What do I look for when looking for a coach?
When it comes to investing in yourself and your business, a business coach could be just what you need. However, finding the right coach can be a hard task. Unfortunately, this is not only true for new entrepreneurs looking to start their first business but also for those who have done it all (okay, almost all) or even when they've worked with multiple business coaches before. What should you expect? How do you know the person you're wanting to work with is someone who will help you further towards your goals in unique and exciting ways?
First, you need to understand your goals. Find a coach who focuses on your specific needs and a program to match! If you are looking to start fast you need an accelerator program. If you are looking for a specific skill or business, a group coaching program on the topic you are looking to learn may be beast. If you need all of the above and accountability then 1-on-1 may be best for you.
Look for someone you can trust. Don't be afraid to ask for referrals (or testimonials). Do an interview/intake session - If a person is good, they should be willing to show you their talent without/or for low payment for the first consultation. Pay attention to authenticity.
Be sure to find someone with the right experience. Find out what they've done. Find out where they're going. Check for credentials.
