THE ANNUAL MEMBER AWARDS EDITION

THE HER CORNER 'GRATITUDE' AWARD Aviva Goldfarb
Given to the member who has most graciously shared the vision of Her Corner

WINNER: AVIVA GOLDFARB of Six O'Clock Scramble. The moment Aviva walked into Her Corner, she immediately looked around and saw an opportunity for Her Corner to help more women business owners. She reached out to her personal and professional network of fellow women entrepreneurs to tell them what we were building, and overnight we saw an enormous uptick in new member applications from this well known business owner, influencer and a connector. Her mission-driven organization has provided menu plans for busy families for the last 10 years in order to restore family meal times. She is a business visionary with a generous soul and we are so grateful to have her as a member of Her Corner!  Aviva is a member of our CHEVY CHASE group, and she’s an extraordinary entrepreneur and a woman to watch!

THE HER CORNER 'COLLABORATION' AWARD Pleasance Silicki
Given to the member who has most generously collaborated with fellow Her Corner members

WINNER: PLEASANCE SILICKI of Lil Omm Yoga. Over the last year no other member has so generously collaborated with fellow Her Corner members as Pleasance has. She has shared her studio with members for co-hosting classes, she has invited members to talk with her about how to build their business, and she has offered free classes exclusively for stressed out Her Corner entrepreneurs. Single handedly she is shattering the misconception that women don't help women and she makes us all want to be better collaborators and supporters of one another. Thank you Pleasance for opening and sharing your business and your heart with our Her Corner members! Pleasance is a member of our GLOVER PARK group, and she’s an extraordinary entrepreneur and a woman to watch!

THE HER CORNER 'BELIEVE' AWARDYael Krigman

Given to the member who continuously demonstrated perseverance audacity, and commitment to build the business she has envisioned

WINNER: YAEL KRIGMAN of Baked by Yael. Last summer we ran into Yael at a business conference. She was frustrated by the stress and challenges of building the bakery and cake pop business that she had worked so hard to launch and establish over the last several years. But one thing was clear, she maintained an incredibly clear vision of what she wanted to build, she simply had to work through the hurdles and the set backs that all entrepreneurs face in business. She picked herself up, got back out there, and even landed a huge new client that day. Over the course of the year, she has demonstrated the kind of perseverance, audacity, and courage that it takes to remain committed to building the vision. Repeatedly she has challenged herself to learn how to pitch for business competitions, to solicit investors and to seek out business loans. She is the winner of our "believe" award because she shows the rest of us every single day what it means to pursue the vision, no matter the challenges we face. Thank you Yael for inspiring us to be more audacious! Yael is a member of our AU / Tenley Town group, and she's an extraordinary entrepreneur and a woman to watch!

THE HER CORNER 'NEW BEGINNINGS' AWARD       Marcy Butler
Given to the member who most tackles the question: 'What do I want my life and my business to look like?'

WINNER: MARCY BUTLER of Marcy Butler Designs. One of the most difficult things to do is change. Change your life, change your professional choices, change the routine. It can be even more difficult to address the question, 'what do I want my life to look like,' and then to actually implement the answer. Many of us spend years thinking through this question, and some of us never do anything with the answer. But part of the reason we built Her Corner was specifically to create a community for the women who had decided to take that risk: the risk of walking away from the business choices they had made in the past and to start something completely new. But as we also know, the decision to change your life and to build a business does not guarantee success. There are so many other elements that must go into the creation: investment of time and money, perseverance, vision and execution. The execution is key, especially in the world in which we live in, in which beautiful design is so important. This year's award goes to Marcy Butler who decided to design, create and launch a new luxury apron and apparel business.  She demonstrated beautiful execution from start to finish, and has done so with a smile on her face and a tremendous sense of humour! Marcy is a member of our GLOVER PARK group, and she’s an extraordinary entrepreneur and a woman to watch!
