In the movie The Great Debaters, Dr. James Farmer says “We do what we have to do, in order to do what we want to do.” At Her Corner, we examine the guts of your business operations and help you ask the tough questions to move your business forward and help you see over the horizon. Yes, it’s summertime and we want to enjoy the water at the beach, but the tidal waves of life are high right now.
The question is, are you floating or swimming?
Whether preparing for going back to the office, back to school, or back to mask-wearing, you have to remain focused and be willing to do the work when everyone else is resting.
Here come those pesky words …balance and discipline.
Of course, enjoy the rest of the summer, but don’t completely check out. If you have chosen to float, don’t stay there too long to risk sacrificing your progress and losing momentum. Instead, be disciplined:
- Complete assignments and spreadsheets to educate yourself and track goals
- Check-in with clients to discuss needs and trends, to show care, and generate sales
- Use an accountability partner. Her Corner Facilitators are the best! Yes, I’m biased.
All this may seem time-consuming, but you must give a sincere effort.
Do the best you can with the understanding that you are investing in your growth and getting ahead of the competition. I promise you, it is worth it.
If you are experiencing any feelings of anxiety of “how am I going to do this,” it means your business is growing. That means it’s working. Your effort and time invested are paying off. So keep swimming through the waves!
Remember you got this.
Let’s get it done!
