I can’t believe it, but we’ve officially reached the middle of 2018. We are halfway through the year. In all of our Accelerator meetings across the country this month, we’ve been asking the same question: Is your business working for you? Some people misunderstand the question and think we are asking, “Are you in or out?” They think this is a black and white issue. Either everything is great and you are all in, or there have been a few bumps in the road and it’s time to throw in the towel on the whole business.
BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT WE ARE ASKING AT ALL.
What we are really asking is, “Are there pieces or parts of your business that you know aren’t working? That you have known for a while need to be addressed but you’ve just been putting off because it is too overwhelming or stressful to deal with?”
Well guess what? It’s time. You have half the year still in front of you to make the changes, whether they are big decisions or small adjustments. It is time to listen to that voice in your head that has been bringing up this same issue for the last few months.
Just last week in one of our Accelerator meetings, a member had a major breakthrough related to raising her pricing. The most interesting thing she said at the end of the conversation was, “This was the conversation I’ve known I needed to have for the last six months.” She was truly relieved to have finally been able to put words to the feelings she had been grappling with on her own. She also left that meeting totally fired up to change her pricing and to figure out the best way to message the change to her clients.
Sometimes it takes us a while to face the truth of a situation. So ask yourself what’s working and what isn’t. Then make a plan to fix what needs fixing now. By the end of the year, you will be so glad you did.
